It is being reported by the trades that Rodrigo Garcia (Passengers) has been signed on to direct Mother and Child, an upcoming ensemble drama for Mockingbird Pictures and Cha Cha Cha.
The film will follow the intersecting lives of a 50-year old woman, the daughter she gave up for adoption 35 years ago and a black woman looking to adopt a baby.
Alfonso Cuaron, Guillermo del Toro and Alejandro Gonzalez Inarritu will produce the film, whose script Garcia has been working on for more than seven years.
