George Orwell’s real-life story from the book “Catalonia” will be directed by Hugh Hudson and adapted by Bob Ellis. 
Colin Firth and Kevin Spacey are set to star.
“Catalonia” follows his story of he and his wife, Eileen, travels to Barcelona in order to fight Stalinism. Orwell joins the Anarchist brigade and fought in the Spanish Civil War. Ellis’ script will focus on the relationship between Orwell and Georges Kopp, the captivating commander of the brigade.
Variety reports, Hudson is scheduled to begin filming in the first half of 2010 in England, Spain and then Buenos Aires, Montevideo and Uruguay.
