Admit One Box OfficeHappy New Year everyone. Before you wave goodbye to the year that was, take a look at the top films at the US box office for 2006.

Warning: excruciatingly bad film related puns ahead…

Pirates Of The Caribbean: Dead Man’s Chest bombed everything else out of the water, taking in a treasure chest worthy $423 million. Cars zoomed into second place with $244 million, while X-Men: The Last Stand did something X-Men related (manipulated the weather, used telepathy, sat in a wheelchair etc) to take third place with $234 million. The DaVinci Code cracked fourth place with $217 million while Superman Returns (wait for it…) flew into fifth place with $200 million of your dollars.
