Fans Win Protest: CBS Show Jericho to Return
June 6th, 2007 in TV

Looks like the fans have won one for a change. CBS officials, who were land slided with phone calls and people sending packaged nuts to their offices, are rethinking their decision to cancel the cult show ‘Jericho’. The show looks like it will get at least seven more episodes of the show although the negations have not been finalized. Although the cast has gone its separate ways, they remain under contract and can be called in anytime to begin shooting new episodes.
Here is how CBS responded to the fans outrage after the protest by fans:
To the fans of Jericho:
We have read your emails over the past few days and have been touched by the depth and passion with which you have expressed your disappointment. Please know that canceling a television series is a very difficult decision. Hundreds of people at the Network, the production company and the incredibly-talented creative team worked very hard to build and serve the community for this show — both on-air and online. It is a show we loved too.
Thank you for supporting Jericho with such passion. We truly appreciate the commitment you made to the series and we are humbled by your disappointment. In the coming weeks, we hope to develop a way to provide closure to the compelling drama that was the Jericho story.
Sincerely,
Nina Tassler, President of CBS Entertainment
It is nice to see that the CBS listened to the fans on this one and a protest like this can work. And the nuts that were sent to the officials at CBS will go to good use too, they will be donated to local food shelters. Looks like everyone won in the end.
