Ewards’ Latest AlbumKathleen Edwards’ latest album Asking for Flowers (Zoë/Rounder) is filled with “poignant…fierce” (Rolling Stone, 3.6.08) moments, but her music video for the single “The Cheapest Key” shows a “softer side” of her personality. The playful video directed by Lisa Mann depicts Edwards as a campy schoolteacher from hell. She teaches her students a rocking songbook with help from booty-shaking back-up dancers and blatantly keeps a bottle of booze next to the apple on her desk. The satirical video pokes fun at many music video clichés and features Edwards doing her best prima ballerina impression in a tiara and tutu.
