Variety.com has just confirmed that Eric Bana has signed on to play the villain in J.J. Abrams new “Star Trek†movie. Although plot details are still being closely guarded at Paramount, they did release his characters name – Nero.
And while they haven’t confirmed anything regarding the plot, rumors are all over the internet that the Romulans play a big part of the movie, so it’s possible that Eric will be playing the lead Romulan. Of course that’s just speculation at this point, as he could easily be a rogue Starfleet officer.
The only facts that are for certain are the new Trek is scheduled to be released on Christmas Day 2008 and they start to film later this year.
