Director John Woo on Charlie Rose

john-woo-1.jpgDirector John Woo was on ‘Charlie Rose’ last Friday to discuss his new film Red Cliff, a historical epic set in the 3rd century A.D.  It portrays the battle of Red Cliff, which marked the end of the Han dynasty.

Woo commented on his timing to do a movie about China:
“I met some of the young people from China.  You know, they all have a great passion about movies.  They’re all eager to learn.  They all want to learn how to make, you know, a Hollywood type, you know, big-budget movies.  They all want to learn some new experience.  That is one of the biggest reasons I wanted to go back to make that movie.”

If you missed Friday night’s interview with John Woo, it’s well worth the watch, catch it again tonight on BLOOMBERG TELEVISION at 8PM and 10PM ET, or listen to the interview simulcast on Bloomberg Radio.  Bloomberg Radio is broadcast on 1130AM in the New York Metropolitan area and is available on XM and Sirius.
