Cult TV Favorite ‘WKRP In Cincinnati’ Hits DVD Tuesday
April 23rd, 2007 in Dvd, TV
10 time Emmy Award nominated show ‘WKRP In Cincinnati’ is hitting store shelves on Tuesday. The show was a favorite of sitcom viewers when it aired from 1978-1982. Fans have longed for the show to be released for sometime, and will get their wishes answered on Tuesday. Missing from the DVD release are the original songs that were broadcast during the actual show. Music rights to the songs belonged to the publishers of the music so the top hits of that day by bands like Foreigner, Pink Floyd, The Who, The Rolling Stones, Queen, Blondie, KISS, Joe Walsh, Earth, Wind, and Fire, and Talking Heads will be replaced by genric rock bands of that era.
The show is set in Cincinnati, Ohio, and focuses on the wacky relationship of the people who run the station. The show was ahead of its time as it dealt with taboo topics like racism and most famously did a show about the tragic Who concert that killed 11 concert goers in Cincinnati do to poor security.
The show will be released on 3 DVD’s and feature all 90 episodes of the show. The set will cost $39.99 at retail stores.
