Jennifer Connelly and Paul Bettany, who are a real-life husband and wife team, have revealed plans to work together on a new psychological thriller called Born. The film is being directed and co-written by Daniel Simpson, a relative unknown in the industry. But fear not, a number of horror movie veterans will be there as well, helping to lead the way. Guillermo del Toro is set to produce the film, while Clive Barker (who helped write the script) is taking over as executive producer.
In the film, Connelly and Bettany will play a couple who’ve just settled into an idyllic town to riase their family. It sounds all normal, except when you hear what the husband’s job is: he’s a claymation artist. You don’t live next door to one of those all that often. Anyways, while life is looking good in the new town, things quickly start turning badly when his claymation creations begin acting out a nightmare that comes to life.
Thus far, it doesn’t sound like a blockbuster, but it will surely serve the purpose of (temporarily) satiating the horror lovers’ desires for new, creepy films.
