KALA or Dead Time is about a narcoleptic journalist who is being pursued by mysterious men after secretly recording a conversation that involves the wife of a murdered man. Eros is a detective who investigates the murder of a group of men killed by a mob operating freely under the new morality law. Both men’s lives become entangled after one of Janus’s friends is killed and Eros in place on the case. As the story unfolds it becomes obvious the two cases are linked by supernatural and human life. Here is the trailer, which shows how “freaky” the movie is.

Strictly Background is premiering in New York at the New York United Film Festival. This is film that should be on the shelves of all theater departments in High School to Universities. Strictly Background tells you exactly what it takes to be a movie extra. Clearly it’s an acting gig that is not for everyone who wants to work in film.
MTV has a new show that resembles ‘Cops’ for the MTV generation.
Catch a sneak peek August 18th at 10:30 ET/PT before the series premiere August 25th. Check out the trailer by going to MTV.
MTV viewers are about to find out that you can run and you can hide but when the police catch up with you, you’d better have your story straight. The network will give the phrase “You’re so busted” a whole new meaning in a daily dose of police busts and outrageous infractions with the series premiere of “Busted.”
In a new comedy from writer/director Mike Leigh (“Vera Drake,” “Secrets & Lies”), Sally Hawkins stars as Poppy, an irrepressibly free-spirited school teacher who brings an infectious laugh and an unsinkable sense of optimism to every situation she encounters, offering us a touching, truthful and deeply life-affirming exploration of one of the most mysterious and often the most elusive of all human qualities: happiness. Poppy’s ability to maintain her perspective is tested as the story begins and her commuter bike is stolen.
However, she enthusiastically signs up for driving lessons with Scott (Eddie Marsan), who turns out to be her nemesis – a fuming, uptight cynic. As the tension of their weekly lessons builds, Poppy encounters even more challenges to her positive state of mind: a fiery flamenco instructor, her bitter pregnant sister, a troubled homeless man and a young bully in her class, not to mention that she has also thrown out her back. How this affects not only Poppy’s world view but also the outlook of those around her.
This the second horror flick I’ve posted today. I don’t like horror flicks. But I tell you, these trailers are entertaining. Kiefer Sutherland stars in Mirrors. Get scared!
The loss of their son in the 2005 tsunami was just too unbearable for the couple. Because the son’s body was never found the wife clung to the idea the boy may be knapped by traffickers in the chaos that followed the catastrophe. Thus, the couple embarks on a horrific tale of paranoia, betrayal, going deeper into an alien universe of supernatural where the dead are never really dead - nightmares, obsession and horrific reality converge. Yikes!
Vinyan screens at the Toronto Film Festival and I read that the movie is really graphic with horror. Quite possibly the French censors might not allow distribution.
Anyway, let me know your thoughts on this trailer. You will see a familiar face - Rufus Sewell.
Vicky Cristina Barcelona is a refreshing film this summer compared to what has been hitting the big screens. Sure the superheros and the laughable films are entertaining. Now, let’s sit back and watch a true pro make a simple, complex and funny film sans all the computer generated mumbo jumbo.
How to Lose Friends & Alienate People, comedy, stars Jeff Bridges, Gillian Anderson, Kirsten Dunst and Simon Pegg. Looks painfully hilarious. Enjoy the trailer!
Jane Morton is no ordinary psychiatrist, which is typical of the profession. She’s from Dublin and grieves the loss of her husband and son caused by an accidental death. She takes on a case, Dorothy Mills, which hits her emotional tone. A teenage girl in a small village tried to strangle a baby. Jane barely makes it to the village after experiencing and surviving a car accident. Once she arrives, Jane begins to question her profession, smart girl, as she discovers a village darkened by strange events and meets a very edgy Dorothy, who declares she never touched the baby. Through some typical psycho mumbo jumbo called “analyzing the teenager,” Jane justifies Dorothy’s actions as insanity until the day that Dorothy speaks with the voice of David, Jane’s dead son. Then, the real cause comes to horror. This trailer clearly shows the horror, Yikes!
The Children of Huang Shi had a limited released in United States, but is still opening throughout the world in many languages. An interesting story that is based on a true adventure in China during the Japanese occupation in 1937.
Check this trailer out. Did you notice Debra Winger? Hathaway is so not a Princess in this film. I laughed, but find Jonathan Demme’s movie very harsh and very true to life. Anyone who has experienced a roller-coaster sibling or friend can relate to this story - it goes deep - but funny in a truthful way. Even in this short trailer I can sense the camera work is fantastic. The Rachel Getting Married comes out October 3, 2008.
Yesterday Pineapple Express opened to a record-breaking $12.5 million smoking past $8.5 record from The Princess Diaries 2 of 2004. Pineapple Express stars Seth Rogen and James Franco. I’ve seen Rogan in comedies but never Franco, and Franco is good, funny and believable. Plus, there is a lesson to learn in this movie, don’t take drugs.
It’s great to see Marks k Ruffalo, Adrien Brody and Rachel Weisz in a really good comedy. It might be predictable but it looks like a lot of fun. The Brothers Bloom trailer — enjoy!
MTV brings us the trailer for the movie Role Models starring Paul Rudd and Seann Williams. It’s interesting to see Rudd with this attitude; but then at the end of the trailer, it works.
Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs trailer is a lot of fun to watch, silly stuff. The release date is July 1, 2009. We will be seeing more of silly stuff until then.
From what I have heard about this film, it’s endearing and a must see movie about coming of age and finding happiness with an all star cast. The movie opens October 17th.
Jennifer Hudson had this to say about The Secret Life of Bees, “It’s very raw, very raw. It affected each of us in some kind of way,” says Hudson. “Like with me, I had to do research like crazy on the civil rights movement. That messed with my mind. And then I had to fight three white men because I was my own stunt double…Dakota, Queen and Tristan (Wilds) had to go to bee school and learn how to deal with bees. Alicia had to learn how to play the cello,” says Hudson. “I’ve never had to be this involved in anything in my life! I had to touch a bug. I had a fit, honey. I nearly lost my mind! It was a beetle, but luckily, it was beautiful.”
Joan Allen stars in Death Racer and it appears she is the villain. Interesting take to see Joan Allen in a car racing film that is this dark, silly and predictable.
Scorpion King 2: Raise of a Warrior goes to the DVD shelves August 19th. Check out the trailer — it’s pretty awesome with the special effects — battle scenes galore.
Watching this trailer with my daughter tells me High School Musical 3 is a fun movie to see. Touting 10 original songs and the same spunk as the other two High School Musical movies made for cable TV means when it hits the big screen — it’s a box office hit.
Dreamwork’s Ghost Town directed by screenwriter David Koepp, Indiana Jones 4, stars Téa Leoni who is such a natural and loveable actress. This is her second “supernatural” film. The other she starred with Nicolas Cage called The Family Man. Enjoy the trailer — good, fun story.
My daughter saw this trailer and said “I have to see this movie.” It’s coming on DVD September 16th, looks like a fun movie for the whole family. Enjoy the trailer.
