America’s first National Park, Yellowstone, is one of the most spectacular wildernesses on Earth and home to some of the richest wildlife beyond the plains of Africa. Yellowstone: Battle for Life reveals the beauty and struggles of this amazing natural treasure. Every family and teacher must own the documentary. It’s for nature enthusiasts everywhere. The release contains three hour-long episodes that encompass nearly an entire year at Yellowstone National Park, as well as 30 minutes of behind-the-scenes special features.
I was amazed at the detail and coverage of winter in Yellowstone. The documentary was such an educational and entertaining experience for me and my family. We watched how animals survive in the below freezing weather. Breathtaking fly-overs while narrator Peter Firth explains the paradox of being the home of world’s largest geothermal formation while also being one of the coldest places in North America.
My daughter was captivated during the coverage of summer in Yellowstone. She learned about the humming bird that migrates every year to Yellowstone from Mexico. If a snow storm kills off the brilliant flowers, the humming bird get it’s nectar from, no problem the bird sucks the tree sap. The humming birds lay and raise their young, and then head back to Mexico for 6 months before returning the Yellowstone.

Disney has released one minute of Pixar’s newest short film, Dug’s Special Mission. The short will be released with the UpDVD/Blu-ray on November 10, 2009. It’s a brandnew five minute short film that is a prequel to Up, following “the good-hearted dog, Dug as he is sent on a series of quests by his mean canine bosses.” Truthfully, it looks like Dug’s canine bosses are trying to get rid of him.
Here is the New Moon film clip of the transformation of Jacob into a wolf looks awesome! I suspect we will see more clips before the movie opens November 20, 2009. By the way, New Moon pre-ticket sales for opening day has sold out at one of the major movie theaters in my city. It looks like the movie is going to be a big money maker.
Yahoo posted this clip from Pirate Radiocalled “F-Word”. Bill Nighy and Phillp Seymour Hoffman play brilliantly off each other in this scene. This is going to be a fun movie.
Nice piece on Iron Man 2 about making the movie and the story line. The clip is a little over seven minutes long but worth the watch. Latin Review brought this clip to my attention – thanks.
Yahoo Movies has an exclusive clip about the making of The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassusthat intentionally or not intentionally coincides with the release of the new poster.
The poster says a lot more about the movie, which concerns a sixteen year old daughter of Dr. Parnassus who promised the devil his daughter for something super special – immortality? I am not sure yet what that was.
Anyway, the clip, which you can get to by clicking on the new poster, explains in detail the story of Dr. Parnassus. Enjoy!
The Expendablestrailer is fun, I like it. Although this promotional reel is not really a trailer. It’s more of a promotional piece for distribution. But, it’s fun to watch. The one-liners are hilarious and very real by writer and director Sylvester Stallone. It looks like he has hit pay dirt, a real winner here folks. The live action movie is set to be released August 20, 2010, starring Sylvester Stallone, Jason Statham, Jet Li, Mickey Rourke, Terry Crews, Randy Couture, Eric Roberts, Dolph Lundgren, Charisma Carpenter, Giselle Itie, Brittany Murphy, David Zayas and Amin Joseph. The movie centers on a team of mercenaries on a tough mission to overthrow a South American dictator.
Okay, you know that TV show that keeps showing up on MTV, about the most spoiled kids on earth who start screaming that they want a patently ridiculous sweet sixteen party and won’t stop hyperbolically whining until they get one? The one that’s so horrible that, when South Park made its parody, they had to make Satan play the part of the girl?
Just in case you were idly wondering what it’d be like to silence one of those unpleasant little girls via the simple expedient of a fire axe to her open mouth mid-whine, MTV’s going to rip itself off and give you just what you wanted–My Super Psycho Sweet 16.
This will premiere–where else?–on MTV October 23rd following a limited theatrical run, and features a girl about to have one of these repugnant parties, when the class outcast makes a play for the party girl’s ex boyfriend. This by itself would be boring as all hell until the class outcast’s father, who conveniently just happens to be a serial killer, crashes the party and does a little redecorating–in arterial red.
My head hurts just thinking about it. Trying to review it would be either the most fun I’ve had in months or like waxing my own back. A clip from this train wreck in waiting is below.
