Legendary horror director John Carpenter is reported to be helming Scared Straight for Nu Image / Millennium Films. The movie follows a group of juvenile delinquents who are trapped inside a prison as part of the “Scared Straight” program when a large-scale riot breaks out. It is up to inmate Karl Rix to save the kids.
Nicolas Cage is being reported to play Rix. The project was previously set up at New Line Cinema with Rob Cohen attached to direct. Shooting begins this Fall.
