“The Ugly Truth” signed Katherine Heigl and Gerard Butler to star in the comedy film about the battle of the sexes. I think they make a nice couple.

Heigl plays a romantically ineffective morning show producer who is reluctantly over-involved with her chauvinistic correspondent, Butler, in a series of appalling tests to prove his theories on relationships and help her find love.

Butler is such a versatile actor. I first saw him in “Phantom of the Opera” (felt drawn to his persona) and then in “300” I barely recognized him. In “Dear Frankie” he was lovable.

Butler’s been super busy with “P.S. I Love You.” Then he is starring in “Nim’s Island” and “Rocknrolla.”
