The disaster that was Blade Trinity had trashed the series’ reputation so much that talks of a further sequel were trashed. But now it appears that they are taking a different approach to extending its story.
Comics2Film reports that a prequel trilogy is in the works. Stephen Dorff and director Stephen Norrington had worked together on the first Blade back in 1998. The actor said last year that a trilogy focused on his character was in the works and that “it will be cool”.
Norrington confirmed that news this week, though he noted that the film is “not exactly how the article describes but close.” He adds that the original concept has changed a lot from the original, and that they are still working on connecting the story to the original Blade.
It is expected that Norrington will start work on the project after his reinvention of The Crow franchise.
