‘Batman’ Conquers Record
July 19th, 2008 in Action, Adventure, Box Office, Top 5 List, Top Ten List
The Dark Knight, Batman sequel, set a single-day box office record by taking in $66.4 million on opening day.
The total for the movie on Friday overcame the previous record of $59.8 million from last year by Spider-Man 3.
With such a big first day, The Dark Knight might set an opening weekend record of conquering the $151.1 million that was posted by Spider-Man 3 last year.

A bad and overhyped movie with even worse acting, with a questionable box-office return? Something smells criminal in MovieLand, Bat-Man!!

I haven’t seen it yet; but from the trailers, it looks pretty awesome.

This is such a bad movie, the only thing this fake Batman attempt will conquer is lack of sleep. This is the most over-hyped junk of the year, with the worst imaginable casting and acting, and yet it’s being touted as the best thing ever done. It FAILS, not only because of the bad acting and lack of a story, the whole franchise needs to be rebooted thanks to this hopelessly lost and stranded failure. The only Dark Night you should get tonight is at home in bed!!

WH — can you be more specific — generalities don’t hold value.

Ah, trolls.
I can’t recall the last time a movie was given 3 am and 6 am showings to take the overflow from the midnight sell-outs. That says something.

Good point Liz. That’s right it was an overflow from midnight showing.

I’m sure the IMDB boards are alight with people scrawling nasty things about LEdger and the film. I think the film is a little overhyped, but boring it sure as hell isn’t. It deserves to break the box-office record, it’s far better than Spiderman 3

From what I have heard the movie is awesome and the box office score is the proof.
