Kim Basinger might star with Zac Efron in The Death and Life of Charlie St. Cloud, the Burr Steers-directed drama. I hope she signs up. I’d like to see her in a film with Efron.
She would play his grieving mother, a caretaker at a cemetery who has weekly meetings with a younger brother whose accidental death Efron’s character feels was his fault.
The film was originally scripted by Craig Pearce and polished by Steers, most directors do that these days.
