Jason Biggs, who’s probably best known for his roles is the American Pie comedies, has just been tapped to star alongside Dane Cook, Kate Hudson, and Lizzy Caplan in a new chuckler – Bachelor No. 2.
With Bachelor No. 2’s focus on the whole game of dating and dumping, its storyline already seems to be a bit too predictable. The film stars Tank (Dane Cook), who is a professional bachelor no. 2, which means basically that when a girl dumps a guy, the guy will hire Tank to come along and take the ex-girlfriend out on her first date post-break up. Clearly their intention is not to find her someone to soothe her, but rather, a guy who will smash her heart to bits and offend her so badly that she’ll come running back to the man she just dumped. Yawn. So, inevitably, there comes along a girl who tests Tank’s devotion to the job. Double yawn. Could they have thought of any less predictable?
When Tank’s best friend Dustin (Jason Biggs) gets dumped by his new girlfriend (Kate Hudson), naturally Dustin turns to Tank to work his magic. But this time, it’s not just another job. Tank finds himself falling for the girl, and his loyalty to his friend is tested. Will he go about his regular business, treating Dustin’s girl like crap? Or, will he screw his friend, and try to put the moves on her?
I’m positive that with Biggs and Cook on board, Bachelor No. 2 will be good for a few good laughs and mildly raunchy humor, and while the storyline might not be the greatest, it sounds like it will be good for some light-hearted viewing fare. Nothing too serious, just something enjoyable and funny to watch.
