To promote the upcoming release of District 9, Sony is advertising the film on bus benches in Los Angeles. And yes, it’s a funny, though racially motivated one. The ad notes that the bus bench is for humans only and that non-humans (aka aliens) should be reported to a given telephone number, which, when called to, reaches Multi National United.
Directed by Neill Blomkamp, the sci-fi thriller shows a world where aliens have become refugees in South Africa. Racial segregation, anyone? The film opens August 14 nationwide.
