James Cameron may have found his Pandora with Avatar grossing $73 million in the states and $220 to $230 million worldwide. With the hellacious storm, freezing trips to the movie theaters, on the East Coast in the U.S. placed a damper on the possibility of an even larger bank roll for Avatar. Cameron’s movie opened at the onset of the traditional holiday vacation, so more money is sure to roll at the box office.
A nice little surprise is Up in the Air starring George Clooney, an early award winner, opened in 175 theaters and made the top ten at eighth place.
