Variety reports that Wind Dancer Films has picked up the film rights to American Lightning, a recent published book by Howard Blum.

The book follows the true story of the 1910 terrorist bombings of the offices of newspaper The LA Times that killed 20 people and were part of a homegrown assault on 100 American cities.

In the aftermath, William J. Burns – considered then-top detective – and lawyer Clarence Darrow try to uncover the truth behind the bombings.

Judd Payne, Matt Williams and David McFadzean is attached as producers.
