Short film, especially short horror film, works against one critical facet of its own existence–its name. A short film is by definition short. And this often works against a movie, as it has no time for character development or introducing plots or anything like that. It has to be direct, to the point, and above all, coherent.
This is where some online videos like the self-titled A Horror Film By Tom Schwing Handlos fail so graphically. I’m frankly not even sure what it’s about–a creepy old man approaches a house currently occupied, as best as I can tell, by a kid and a corpse. The old man follows the kid throughout the house, to the tune of the original John Carpenter Halloween theme.
Huh? I’m as confused as you are, folks–if you’re dying to see an online video gone horribly, horribly wrong, then A Horror Film By Tom Schwing Handlos is the way to go.
