80’s Flashback: He-Man Coming to the Big ScreenMay 24th, 2007 in Movies |

Producer Joel Silver and Warner Brothers are currently in discussions to acquire the rights to remake “He-Man and the Masters of the Universe” into a new, live-action movie that a new generation can enjoy. Those of us who were alive in the 80’s might remember He-Man from the popular cartoon series by the same name, as well as the 1987 film based off the series.
The new version of the He-Man movie aims to produce a more gritty fantasy feel. In the new version, Adam is a solider who goes off to find his destiny, and runs into a magical world called Eternia. While in Eternia, Adam runs into a being called Skeletor who has created a technological army and is hell-bent on ridding the world of magic.
A He-Man movie has been in the works for sometime, but it looks like this time it might actually pan out and make it to the big screen. At one point John Woo was lined up to direct a He-Man movie with Fox, but that obviously didn’t work out.
No word if He-Man underoos will also be making a comeback.
