Two Lovers Trailer

Set in the insular world of Brighton Beach, Brooklyn, Two Lovers is a classic romantic drama, with Joaquin Phoenix giving a raw and vulnerable performance as Leonard, a charismatic but troubled young man who moves back into his childhood home following a recent heartbreak. While recovering under the watchful eye of his parents (Isabella Rossellini and Moni Monoshov), Leonard meets two women in quick succession: Michelle (Gwyneth Paltrow), a mysterious and beautiful neighbor who is exotic and out-of-place in Leonard’s staid world, and Sandra, the lovely and caring daughter of a businessman who is buying out his family’s dry-cleaning business.

Leonard becomes deeply infatuated by Michelle, who seems poised to fall for him, but is having a self-destructive affair with a married man. At the same time, mounting pressure from his family pushes him towards committing to Sandra. Leonard is forced to make an impossible decision - between the impetuousness of desire and the comfort of love - or risk falling back into the darkness that nearly killed him.

Sandra Bullock is Expendable?

JoBlo reports that Sylvester Stallone is after Demolition Man co-star Sandra Bullock to join him in The Expendables, his upcoming action film. Stallone has so far lined up Jason Statham, Jet Li, Forest Whitaker, Randy Couture and Dolph Lundgren for the film which tells the tale of mercenaries on a mission to take down an evil dictator.

Bullock would play a government agent on the hunt for Stallone’s crew. However, her participation in the film is yet to be a “done deal”, but hopefully it should go through.

Sylvester Stallone also stars in the film and will direct it.

Dark Knight Not so Hot in China

The Dark Knight is an amazing film and has been a global success, save for one country: China. AFP is reporting that despite the film’s tremendous popularity, Warner Brothers has opted not to release it in China.

In an official statement, the company has stated that “based on a number of pre-release conditions that are being attached to ‘The Dark Knight’ as well as cultural sensitivities to some elements of the film, we have opted to forego a theatrical release of the film in China.”

China is notorious for its stingy censors through which a handful of movies pass every year. The Dark Knight has a couple of factors that denies its access to China: its plot involves Batman illegally kidnapping a Chinese fugitive from a Hong Kong skyscraper, and there’s a rather non-flattering remark about Chinese gun manufacturing.

“[The deal] just happened in the last 48 hours,” said Sherwood. “I can’t take this much excitement at my age.”

No production schedule or other information was disclosed.
