After asking for some tips on the No más! post, we got some pretty knowledgeable responses : turns out we were being exposed to the "Naco" style of filmmaking, an irony-laden approach dealing with Mexican late 70s / early 80s kitsch culture. Reader Jose illustrates our experience with "Silverio and his colleagues in Mexico City are involved in an 'art movement' that digs up the kitsch of 1970s and 1980s Mexico. Imagine looking at a clip of a Mr. Show skit based on 'American Movie: The Making of Northwestern' and then attempting to figure out American culture via that Mr. Show skit."

Ah. Knowing this and getting in on the joke a little makes what was a merely odd clip much more interesting.

Much thanks to Jose and to Jason, and to Ben for pointing it out to us in the first place.

Recently the community of players had a costume contest, and the results are here in this photo gallery. Shown here are the heroes the people were aiming for, and what they ended up with. Occasionally upsetting, mostly pretty great.
