License to shill

Usually what happens is some producer or assistant or someone threatens to send us an advance copy of a TV show, movie, or piece of shit puppet show which they'd like to get a mention here on Screenhead, and we get all pokey-nipped at the prospect of free stuff, and then months go by and it never arrives, and we silently harbor burning hateful resentment towards, off the top of our heads, say, those worthless South Park cocksuckers. This is why we never review things.

Comedian Jim Gaffigan and/or his people broke the trend and actually sent us the thing they said they were going to send, a copy of Jim's new DVD due out shortly called Beyond the Pale, which is a stand-up performance from October 2005 in Chicago, and about an hour's worth of short clips and oddities as bonus footage. Thankfully this disc is completely hilarious and well worth the 11 bucks it's retailing for, as we'd hate to sully our first dalliance with payola by having to shit all over our free booty. The stand-up performance will be on Comedy Central this Sunday the 29th, the disc will be released Feb 7. The bonus stuff includes Jim's first shot at stand-up and some odd stuff not seen on his website (including footage of Jim doing a little publicity at a local news station, which features Gilbert Gottfried in a Viking get-up.. something we are forced to assume is shrewdly included on the disc as cheesecake masturbation material.) This animation is also on Beyond the Pale, but in a size which allows you the luxury of not squinting until you squirt blood.

Can you elaborate on whatever happened with the south park folks? I haven't watched that show/cartoon for a long time now but I'd like to know how they stiffed you, just curious.

That screen clip of the comedy doesn't look to promising but I guess I can't judge a book by it's cover.

I was meant either to get a copy of that Team America movie or go to a screening or something, I honestly forget which, but it was my first (of quite a few) broken promises from the people who promote these things, most of who seem to be coke fiends. "Resentment" should be taken in the context of my not caring all that much, it's just an excuse to call someone a cocksucker. I'm sure Matt and Trey are very nice cocksuckers.
