Well, Stankervision's (the Damn Show packaged for MTV2) cancellation is official, despite its apparent degree of popularity. We didn't have a lot of trouble predicting the show's premature demise, Viacom loves to fake enthusiasm for edgy programming just long enough to give the impression of being risk takers, but any real support usual goes to safer fare like The Osbournes.

Stankervision was pretty great stuff in our opinion, if you missed it or just miss it check out a bevy of clips at iFilm, which has recently been bought up by MTV. We wonder if perhaps the Stankervision iFilm page heats up, MTV might try another mode of distribution. Larger companies are bound to ditch the futile attempts to dilute niche programs for broadcast and grasp some version of the concept of "narrowcasting" one of these days.
