Blues musician John Lee Hooker remains one of our favorite creative people for his career-long unwavering ability to get the maximum amount of emotion across with the most economy of any artist we can name. With deceptively simple rhythms and sometimes one-note guitar solos, never once did he sound the least bit fake or out of the moment. Here's a 1969 television performance of It Serves Me Right to Suffer.
