Honestly, we find the music in this clip so twee it makes us want to punch ourselves in the face with a tack hammer just so we can experience something percussive, but Fink's video for it is certainly interesting; feels like you're a humming bird on dope.

Praxis - Animal Behavior
Praxis was/is an amazing collective of experimental musicians who came together in the early 1990s, dedicated to pushing musical boundaries. The members of the band are (were) many and include(d) (time is so funky, baby) the currently sort-of-famous for his stint in Guns n' Roses/ KFC bucket fashion victim Buckethead, and Funk bass legend /all around spiffy dresser Bootsy Collins. The debut Praxis album, Transmutation (Mutatis Mutandis) sounds like listening to an old Parliament record after sustaining a massive head injury, and is our favorite thing to clear out a room with when it becomes infested with Nickelback fans. Despite our love of the album, we had no idea there were ever videos made for what could only loosely be called a single from the mass of sound, but it turns out that at least one did magically occur: Animal Behavior

Crossroads Showdown
Mid-80s flick Crossroads is that rare chance to watch the Karate Kid square off musically against Satan for the soul of a blues man who has hocked his eternal ghostly bits in Hell's pawnshop for some talent, just like Robert Johnson was once meant to have done. The movie insults dozens of our remaining brain cells the six or so times a month we watch it, particularly in the bit we're linking to here where Satan's rent boy Jack (Zappa alum Steve Vai) magically forgets where the last few frets on the guitar are and gets his ass handed to him by Daniel-san. Redeeming feature? Bitchn' music performed by Steve and Ry Cooder as Ralph Macchio's stunt talent.

Here's an unreleased PETA ad fronted by Nine Inch Nails' Trent Reznor in which the mistreatment of cats and dogs in China is the focus. While we don't want to see animals tortured, worrying about how animals are treated seems like something to tackle after all the people are looked after, a day which is very far away. That aside we're just happy to see one-time boundary pusher Trent once again in a video labeled "extremely graphic." Now if he'd just sing something. Don't watch this if you're easily upset or in denial about what that is in beef Hot Pockets.
Slightly easier to watch is pre-NIN Trent doing Eyes Without a Face in his high school new wave outfit "Option 30", which all things considered sounds pretty good to us.

Gunn Rap is from Smif n Wessun's 2005 Reloaded disc. Smif n Wessun are now known as Cocoa Brovaz after a legal battle with gun merchants Smith & Wesson over the name they've had for like ten years or so. That was a responsible move from responsible company Smith & Wesson... selling guns in Black neighborhoods is cool, but being assoicated with it would just be tacky.

Ah Nora Jones- but three notes of her dulcet tones have to scrape their way into our ear canal and we're magically transported to waiting around on a six hour layover in some shitty airport in the middle of nowhere. What a magical ability she has. This video, and we're not even sure to which song because we can't for the life of us tell one from the next, features director David LaChapelle's usual skillful ability to insert a whole lot of mood into his work, and so is well worth checking out. It's also nice to see the lipstick lady make a little cameo.

Aussie filmmaker Grant Marshall's video for the new single Some Postman from cancer survivors The Presidents of the United States of America was shot using only camera-enabled cellphones, as far as we know the first major video to be done this way. The phones film at about 10 frames per second, or at one third the speed of normal cameras, which means the band had to perform the song at half speed to avoid blurry distortions.

Yoshiki Lai's odd video for hot in Taiwan in the 90s Loh Tsui Kweh (A playful Taiwanese misspelling of the Choshui River in Taiwan, evidently with an effect sort of like an American band from the south calling themselves "Alabamer" or something), or LTK, or even LTK Commune. More info seems to require a knowledge of Taiwanese which we lack, but the video is interesting enough to avoid any real need for explanation. It is somewhat NSFW what with the body parts.

Well, it was bound to happen eventually : We're linking to a Backstreet Boys video. The clip for Just Want You to Know goofs on the classic Heavy Metal Parking Lot. You might remember American Hi-Fi actually beat them to it by a few years with the video for Flavor of the Week, but we're suckers for exceedingly lame things like the Backstreet Boys daring to invoke irony, seemingly unaware of the meta-irony of a lame band implying that there is something that is in some way lamer than themselves.

Teen Angst
M83 is the name of a spiral galaxy near us featuring hot young stars and a hell of a lot of gas burning off brightly into space. Not coincidentally, M83 is also a French synth-rock outfit. This is their video for a song called Teen Angst. Pay attention, because something very important and French is going on in this video, we're sure of it. A fan made Flash video for metal band Megadeth's anti-court ditty Kick The Chair. We haven't seen a Megadeth video since the late 80s, but by that time they seem to have to gone from a punk-like diy approach to songs about Roswell with alien muppets in the videos. Fingertips
One of the more inspired things we've seen, the collage of tiny tracks at the end of They Might Be Giants's Apollo 18 album known as Fingertips get the Flash toon treatment from a variety of Albino Blacksheep animation artists. Nearly every meme-ish thing from recent memory shows up in the toons, including an unsettling amount of smirky Canadian comedian Colin Mochrie.
