Geist

geist.JPGGeist is filmmaker Mark Hemmings' attempt to recreate the look and feel of silent era films. In it, a mysterious man shows up at a death bed and attempts to ply the old superstition of a soul being captured when a photo is taken. The technique used to create Geist is as interesting as the film; 1500 individual photographs were taken, then treated individually to look like the output from early film cameras, and then finally strung together to make an animation.
