"Oh my God we are launching a TV channel."
So, Al Gore's new network Current launched today. Current is doing the MTV* style of programming, however instead of music videos, it features viewer-submitted and otherwise "underground" sort of vlog-style bits of video documentaries hosted by VJs (one of the better examples of which we've seen here.) Goggle also has its own show on Current imaginatively entitled Goggle Current.
We've been linking to Current TV for its shorts now and again while waiting for it go green, as this style of broadcast with content proved by the audience is pretty much going to be the way of all lower budgeted - television for the foreseeable future (The Video Journalism Model, officially. ) Already it's happening with local news affiliates; seems soon everyone can count on their guaranteed Warhol 15.

*MTV as ye olde Gen-Xers remember MTV, that is; you Gen-Yers will have to imagine a world where there were short videos of semi-fresh and fairly interesting content presented by a living person on MTV... sort of like that Carson Daly show they did in the late 90s, but with short videos of semi-fresh and fairly interesting content presented by a living person.
