Photorealistic Vector Art

Vector art is traditionally hard line graphic design stuff like logos with solid colors and mapped out gradients, but occasionally a few artist take some time and push it into the realm of bitmap style graphics. This is a gallery of work going all the way into photo-realism.

Slick video creations for MTV Australia

95959595959dd.JPGA gallery of short video clips featuring Umeric's stunning design work for MTV Australia's 2006 Video Music Awards
"Using the concept of 'Audio Creatures', Umeric directed and animated the events' opener and 13 award category sequences. Combining live-action, shot in and around Sydney (Australia), with 3D animated creatures pulsating in time to surreal percussion and electronic audio design. The basis of the clips is to compel the MTV audience to view their everyday environment from a different visual and audio perspective."

Well, that and they simply look stinking cool. Also catch the into clip, and the making of video.

Jan Svankmajer's Food Trilogy

Jan Svankmajer is a highly influential Czech stop motion artist whose work you've seen echoed a lot in the Quay Brothers and Tim Burton. He did a nifty little trilogy centered around the gnashing of foodstuffs with broader themes of class oppression, although its more fun than we just made it sound:

Jan Svankmajer's Food (Part One - Breakfast)

Jan Svankmajer's Food (Part Two - Lunch)

Jan Svankmajer's Food (Part Three - Dinner)

Also, here's Zamilovane maso (Meat Love), which is fantastic but not part of the above dealings. You may remember seeing this on MTV as a interstitial back when it gave a shit.
