Watch this tiny Japanese ad for milk or something just once and that's pretty much it for any sort of peace and quiet in your own brains as they'll loop back "ja-ja-ja-gee" at you for the rest of the day.

Dakota at Japanese TV show

Oh, sure-- when the high school age boy from Dakota Fanning's Japanese fan club with the broken English gets the chance to interview her for television and freaks out from desire it's all "cute," but when we do it we have to announce ourselves to the neighbors when we move somewhere new.

Move it, move it

We don't really know what these bad boys in drag on this game show are saying, but we know somewhere deep down inside... we know in the parts of us which can only be reached through dance or a medium-length knitting needle. It comes from the "Street Dance Site" which we guess means that these boys are out there, running around, like angels or Gary Busey.

Toomu Sooyaa No Bouken

We have very vague memories of this Japanese animated series from 1980 called Tom Sawyer, which is loosely based on the Mark Twain story. Feels like the extras from Inspector Gadget doing scripts from Peanuts after a steady round of absinthe. Read about it a little here. The misspelling helps with the mood.

Yahoo! goes gay. Hard Gay

Previously mentioned Japanese oddity Masaki Sumitani, aka Lazer Ramon, aka Hard Gay, the Elvis of the pelvis, decides that Yahoo! has ripped off his Hoo! yell, and so Hard Gays it up at the Yahoo! headquarters lobby in Japan, trying to get a deal. A seven minute video results. The Thundercats could not be reached for comment.

Recreation doom

Artist Kenji Yanobe's creations are a whimsical look at post-apocalyptic survival technology, usually with a sort of manga bent and a pretty great sense of humor. "Foot Solider", for example (pictured), allows an army of one to stomp around the ruins like Godzilla. Real Geiger counters are installed, just as a little menacing reminder of the real dangers these creations are born of, and possibly, into. Yanobe likes to espouse a little suitably playful paranoia about it all : "I am just making things for what I need now and for my family."

Greg Pak's infomercial spoof in which playwright David Henry Hwang (M. Butterfly, FOB) promotes a porn more friendly to the image of Asian peoples. Tentacles are not addressed. Possibly stars that one girl from that other movie, but who can tell since they all look the same, are we right fellas? Not work unsafe, but it features porny noises.
