Eh, it's all just a popularity contest
The results of The 2005 Weblog Awards have arrived here at Screenhead central over the blower... sorry Lockheart, that wasn't a nice thing to imply. Anyway, the results : in a bit of an upset, Blort swept the bitch, taking all categories.
Actually Gawker Media was the big pimp this year. Gawker Media slapped the Bloggies down, came in the Bloggies' eyebrows and then told the Bloggies to go make it a Dutch apple pie, and quickly.
Well, in truth Boing Boing was the ultimate king, taking the #1 big title as best weblog, but Gawker Media was all over the rest of the situation like buzzards on The Pope.
Best New Weblog: Defamer
Best Entertainment Weblog: Defamer
Best Weblog About Politics: Wonkette
Best Computers or Technology Weblog: Gizmodo
This all has nothing to do with us, of course, as frankly we're not even sure that we're a really a Gawker site. They never even tell us where the meetings are. We did get some love today from HOT WAX ZOMBIES ON WHEELS' auteur Michael Roush, a man who has actually created something, we're quick to point out, other than a fake and meaningless ego-stroke of an award, which we'll win next year anyway, so all is well on our end.
We'll link to the official Bloggies site as soon as they update that site of theirs.
