Mind-bendy animation from artist Stefan Gruber which sort of takes the "do you see a vase or two faces" thing and MC Eschers it all to Hell and back.

Hellboy creator Mike Mignola's horror/sci-fi goof comic The Amazing Screw-On Head has been painstakingly crafted by loving artisans into an animated pilot for the Sci-Fi network. It's sort of a cross pollinated goof on the Wild Wild West and Heavy Metal wherein Abe Lincoln's top spy is a cyborg head. You can watch the whole animated pilot for free on their Pulse broadband site, and more importantly REVIEW THE SHOW WITH THE ONLINE SURVEY so that it might flourish. The show features Molly Shannon, Patton Oswalt and Paul Giamatti doing voice work.

An animated Japanese potty training video. Once again we discover that we've GOT to move to japan:

The retro animation series from Daniel Brock Bogan, aka Waferbaby, who explains his toon thusly: "I've decided to release Pixhell in its entirely under a liberal CC license, and I've posted it on archive.org. For those just joining the waferparty, Pixhell was my crappy little retro animation series from days gone past. Each episode was painstakingly draw pixel by pixel in ResEdit (with a hacked, larger-than-32x32 CICN editor!). I'd take a screen-grab of that, dump each individual frame into GIFBuilder, adjust the pace and timing, convert the .gif to a Quicktime movie, pass that off to Kurt to add sound effects, and post it on the site. Sometimes? A two-week process, all up."

Jan Svankmajer is a highly influential Czech stop motion artist whose work you've seen echoed a lot in the Quay Brothers and Tim Burton. He did a nifty little trilogy centered around the gnashing of foodstuffs with broader themes of class oppression, although its more fun than we just made it sound:
Jan Svankmajer's Food (Part One - Breakfast)
Jan Svankmajer's Food (Part Two - Lunch)
Jan Svankmajer's Food (Part Three - Dinner)
Also, here's Zamilovane maso (Meat Love), which is fantastic but not part of the above dealings. You may remember seeing this on MTV as a interstitial back when it gave a shit.

Crazy Dolphins vs. The Mad Cows, Ian Stewart's 2004 animated short which was, and we're speculating here, written by giving raw sugar and LSD to children. Strictly speaking we don't condone such methods, but you can't argue with the result: a rough crayon-style animation in which we learn how the endtimes will probably go: crazy mammal Y crazy mammal.

"If a person were to disappear we could still tell a lot about them from objects they left behind. These artifacts become a physical representation of memories and identity, both person and social. We may not directly share the same memories but we can share the same artifacts. These artifacts are not only such personal belongings as photographs and letters, but also the commercial objects we accumulate and become attached to. Shared artifacts connect us."
Deb Prado's atmospheric bit of stop-motion animation sifts over the ashes of someone who isn't there anymore. Made entirely of still pictures from a DSLR camera, with no video used.

The mighty Kerb joins up with Phil Hartnoll from Orbital (aka LongRange) to craft a sweet bit of animation with a cranky disposition.

Billed as "just your average animated spaghetti-western zombie flick", Gone Bad features some spiffy 3d animation. With thanks to Numlok
