WAR! ON NEIL YOUNG

The Red State Update wraps up its War On Neil Young with this announcement:
"Neil Young has written a new CD full of Bush bashing venom called "Living WIth War." First "Southern Man", now "Impeach the President"... This is girlie-voiced aggression against everything Jackie and Dunlap stand for. It will not, it cannot stand."
We link to this spate of Red State Updates not for the rich satire, which, as we say, is rich, or for the puppet show, which is always an advisable way to go about things, but because we really hate Neil Young despite a lifelong pressure from music-heads to adore him. People the world over love and respect Neil Young as the pop music forefather of whatever musical style that is which requires its performers to squeal in a whiny trebly bat-upsetting child's voice Tiny Tim would have sold his soul for, forcing it over whichever two cords happen to be easiest to finger that morning, but we just never got it. So, here it is, the Red State Update with WAR! ON NEIL YOUNG: Part One, Two, Three, and The Last Waltz.

I totally agree with you about Neil Young, although "Keep on Rockin' in the Free World" is a good tune-- I think the Flaming Lips also tread on this level where they're wasting a good chance to play cool music and instead preach to me like I'm at an organized protest against the evils of Colombian coffee farming.
